If I DiDn't HaVe a DoG or A CaT...

iF I Didn't Have a Dog.... or Cat....I could walk around the yard barefoot in safety.

My house could be carpeted instead of tiled and laminated.

All flat surfaces, clothing, furniture, and cars would be
free of hair.

When the doorbell rings, it wouldn't sound like a kennel.

When the doorbell rings, I could get to the door without wading through fuzzy bodies who beat me there.

I could sit on the couch and my bed the way I wanted,
with out taking into consideration how much space
several fur bodies would need to get comfortable.

I would have money, and no guilt to go on a real vacation.

I would not be on a first-name basis with six veterinarians, as

I put their yet unborn grandkids through college.

The most used words in my vocabulary would not be: out,
sit, down, come, no, stay, and leave it ALONE.

My house would not be cordoned off into zones with
baby gates or barriers.

I would not talk 'baby talk' 'Eat your din din' 'Yummy yummy

for the tummy.'

My house would not look like a day care center, toys
everywhere.

My pockets would not contain things like poop bags,
treats and an extra leash.

I would no longer have to spell the words B-A-L-L,
W-A-L-K, T-R-E-A-T, O-U-T, G-O, R-I-D-E, C-O-O-K-I-E.

I would not have as many leaves INSIDE my house as outside.

I would not look strangely at people who think having
ONE dog/cat ties them down too much.

I'd look forward to spring and the rainy season instead of dreading 'mud' season.

I would not have to answer the question 'Why do you have so many animals?' from people who will never have the joy in their lives of knowing they are loved unconditionally by someone as close to an angel as they will ever get.

How EMPTY my life would be!!!

We HaVe A WiNnEr WiNnEr ChICkEn DInNer and WhAtCha WorKinG On WeDneSdaY...

Good morning everyone!! We have a BinGo winner!! it is my good Pal Shirley of Wolf Spirits!! Thank you all again for playing and making this such a fun game..Shirley I will have these out to you by the end of the week..;)
Okay here is what I have/had been working on...I made this basket for our new neighbors next door..We took the basket and cookies over to them last night...Their names are Brittany and Travis and they are expecting their first baby a boy on May 22nd..They are going to name him Landon James..I thought she was going to have a boy..but I kept things gender neutral just to be sure...They are a young Navy Couple and cute to boot..The above photo is the basket with everything in it...I love those gerbera daisys they are my favorite!!!
here is what I put inside..I put in some handsoap, body wash gel, body lotion, my linen/room spray in Snuggle Baby, a little angel, a baby book, I wrapped up some magazines for her and him..a little container of gingerbread mix for tea..
I am so happy with the way these all turned out..I just finished them all yesterday...The item on the left is a burp cloth with a little vintage ducky embroidered on it..the backing is soft blue flannel, The Center (my favorite) I love these little vintage designs and the right is a little waffle towel that has baby items in it...
I used my newest cookie cutters and made sugar cookies.. They turned out so neat..going to make my salt dough ornaments next using these...
and last but not least my little sister gave me this simple yummy cookie recipe..They are called chocolate chip pumpkin spice cookies...they are soft and cake like.. you will be amazed at how easy they are to whip up..
Chocolate chip pumpkin spice Cookies
1 box of spice cake mix
1 can 14oz (I believe) of canned pumpkin
1-1/2 cups chocolate chips
Mix the first two ingredients and fold in the chips
Bake for 15 minutes at 350 degrees...
There was that simple or what..no eggs or oil nothing...:) I used a big scoop and they don't spread so you can get alot on the pan.;) it made 30 cookies..
Well that is it for me today..I am finishing up making some items for some fellow followers and trying to get them out soon..I hope you have a wonderful Wednesday everyone..Thank you again for playing along with Bingo Take care.;)

DoN't MeSS wiTh oLd PeoPle..WeLL SaiD...:)

This venerable and much honored WW II vet is well known in Hawaii

for his seventy-plus years of service to patriotic organizations and causes all over the country. A humble man without a political bone in his body, he has never spoken out before about a government official, until now. He dictated this letter to a friend, signed it and mailed it to the president.

Dear President Obama,

My name is Harold Estes, approaching 95 on December 13 of this year. People meeting me for the first time don't believe my age because I remain wrinkle free and pretty much mentally alert.

I enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1934 and served proudly before, during and after WW II retiring as a Master Chief Bos'n Mate. Now I live in a "rest home" located on the western end of Pearl Harbor , allowing me to keep alive the memories of 23 years of service to my country.

One of the benefits of my age, perhaps the only one, is to speak my mind, blunt and direct even to the head man.

So here goes.

I am amazed, angry and determined not to see my country die before I do, but you seem hell bent not to grant me that wish.

I can't figure out what country you are the president of.

You fly around the world telling our friends and enemies despicable lies like:

" We're no longer a Christian nation"

" America is arrogant" - (Your wife even

announced to the world," America is mean-

spirited. " Please tell her to try preaching

that nonsense to 23 generations of our

war dead buried all over the globe who

died for no other reason than to free a

whole lot of strangers from tyranny and

hopelessness.)

I'd say shame on the both of you, but I don't think you like America, nor do I see an ounce of gratefulness in anything you do, for the obvious gifts this country has given you. To be without shame or gratefulness is a dangerous thing for a man sitting in the White House.

After 9/11 you said," America hasn't lived up to her ideals."

Which ones did you mean? Was it the notion of personal liberty that 11,000 farmers and shopkeepers died for to win independence from the British? Or maybe the ideal that no man should be a slave to another man, that 500,000 men died for in the Civil War? I hope you didn't mean the ideal 470,000 fathers, brothers, husbands, and a lot of fellas I knew personally died for in WWII, because we felt real strongly about not letting any nation push us around, because we stand for freedom.

I don't think you mean the ideal that says equality is better than discrimination. You know the one that a whole lot of white people understood when they helped to get you elected.

Take a little advice from a very old geezer, young man.

Shape up and start acting like an American. If you don't, I'll do what I can to see you get shipped out of that fancy rental on Pennsylvania Avenue . You were elected to lead not to bow, apologize and kiss the hands of murderers and corrupt leaders who still treat their people like slaves.

And just who do you think you are telling the American people not to jump to conclusions and condemn that Muslim major who killed 13 of his fellow soldiers and wounded dozens more. You mean you don't want us to do what you did when that white cop used force to subdue that black college professor in Massachusetts , who was putting up a fight? You don't mind offending the police calling them stupid but you don't want us to offend Muslim fanatics by calling them what they are, terrorists.

One more thing. I realize you never served in the military and never had to defend your country with your life, but you're the Commander-in-Chief now, son. Do your job. When your battle-hardened field General asks you for 40,000 more troops to complete the mission, give them to him. But if you're not in this fight to win, then get out. The life of one American soldier is not worth the best political strategy you're thinking of.

You could be our greatest president because you face the greatest challenge ever presented to any president.

You're not going to restore American greatness by bringing back our bloated economy. That's not our greatest threat. Losing the heart and soul of who we are as Americans is our big fight now.

And I sure as hell don't want to think my president is the enemy in this final battle...

Sincerely,

Harold B. Estes
