ChRiStMaS In MaRch...

I am telling you it's beginning to look alot like christmas around here!!! I have received 2 wonderful packages from 2 wonderful blogging buddys..yesterday this package came from Kady over at Stoney Hill Cabin Chronicles.. and I couldn't have been more excited..she put in this wonderful cat sleeping card that is raised..what a beautiful card..
and she had everything all wrapped seperately..I tell you this box was never ending..she sent my kittys some catnip toys..I will be using these in their christmas stockings this christmas..they will love them..:) Thank you for thinking of my "kids"....
She also sent me some cute little felt easter eggs..and one with a kitty..;)
and these two adorable stuffed animals..)again out of wool like material..I love these..
A box of 3 different style cat cards..I love these..love the vibrant colors of these cards..:)
Okay so this is where I put everything..:) Kitty found a spot where our Gracie loves to snooze..in the new old amoire...she is like a princess and the pea..it is a nice quiet spot to cat nap..
my 3 little eggs with my other easter decor..they look nice in the yelloware longaberger bowls..
and last but not least..bunny is there too with the other bunnys...Thank you so much Kady you totally made my day yesterday..I think I am coming down with a sinus cold..oh yippee..so this was a nice surprise...Well we lost power again last night for about 10 minutes..we were just eating dinner..so out came the candles..then it came back on..thank goodness..we have lost power one day every week for 3 weeks so far..not sure whats up..but it is getting rather annoying..today is actually turning out to be decent compared to what they said on the weather..but we do have some more rain in our midst..so staying home and trying to get rid of this cold..gotta get my little sisters baby gifts done..then move onto the surprises I have promise 4 of you..I hope your tuesday is a good one.:>) take care.:)

ChEaP EnTerTaiNmeNt FoR the KiTTys..

Saturday was glorious..so I put 2 of the kittys out in the "okay Kitty Koral" as they tend to be the ones to disappear and loaded up the squirrel/bird feeders and wait for a show..Well I peaked out to make sure they are okay out there and this is what I saw..Gracie sitting patiently looking at 2 squirrels eating..
and if you look in the kennel you see Pody Lynn right in the corner watching ever so intently..;)
can you see the squirrels?
here is one that was in the tree and wanted to see what his/her counterparts were up too and he didn't see Gracie and it scared her and it self and the 2 others and they went scrambling...This is the cheapest entertainment for the kids..so we always try to keep the food bowls full...
Well the post girl came again today..I swear it is better then christmas around here..I got a very sweet package from Kady..I will share that with you all tomorrow..I hope you have/had a wonderful day..we had a bit of rain and it is cold..we have had the woodstove going most of the day today..haven't had it going for most of March..only at night and here and there..hoping the weather gets better..my tulips are finally! starting to open up..can't wait to see them bloom..lots of primroses and the grape hiacynth are blooming right now...oh and the boys and girls plants not sure what they are called but there is pink and blue blooms on one plant..they grow like crazy here...whats blooming in your area?

ArEn'T BloGGinG FoLkS ThE BesT...:)

Hey there!! Well after the church function yesterday I headed to Wally world to take back a bread machine that I purchased last year as it never worked correctly..it would smell like it was burning and the bread never rose (yes, I made sure it has brand new yeast) and still nothing..tried 3 seperate occasions to get it right..(thats how often I make bread)...so I tried again on friday and still nothing..so I had the receipt in hand and took it back..well I was definitely past the 90 days..but here is the kicker on this..They took it back and why, because when I originally purchased it they voided the transaction..but I didn't notice it till I got home..well when I went back out that way I stopped in and Paid for it..so they were nice enough to give me my money back because of my honesty...so it pays to be honest..so I had refund money in hand and I headed to get some supplys for my tag making etc..I picked up a tub of easter cookie cutters to make more salt dough cookies and I made another batch when I got home yesterday..I also picked up an battery operated pencil sharpener..my hand held always breaks my pencils and I was able to sharpen my pencils that I use on my dolls faces..it worked like a dream because there again the hand held always broke and I never got a sharp point..
I also picked up my envelopes as this is what I store my patterns in once I get them put on posterboard..
I picked up 2 squeeze bottles to put batter for cupcakes etc..glue pen, razor blade, extra sticky tape, and snail adhesive, and an apple scented wax tarts...gosh is smells good..
This is the big surprise I was waiting to tell you...I got a wonderfully large package in the mail yesterday from a fellow blogger named Karen of "the barely there primitive bear"
and I had sent her something a while back as she collects bears and it was up her alley..well my goodness I wasn't expecting a package of this size..but it sure did make me smile..
she sent me a wonderful card and this cute bird cage with cats...do you think she has me pegged?
and this wonderful painting of a kitty that she painted just for me!!! I love this and will cherish it always..I love it!!! you did a fantastic job even if you were about to pull your hair out..:)
some halloween fabric..I love halloween fabric and a blast from the past cross stitch magazine from 1995..man that seems so long ag..;)
and I know where this will be going this christmas on my front porch..this is so me..the kitty all tangled in the ornaments..too cute..;)
a cute little note pad to jot notes on with..and I have a embroidery design with that saying on it..
Okay now you need to see where I put everything..I put in one of my crows in the cage...this is up stairs..
I put the kitty painting in my dining room...looks really good there and I see it when I head to the kitchen...Thank you again Karen..it was so thoughtful of you to think of me...Blogging is the greatest..I have learned so many things and new crafts, great recipes etc...all because of blogging....
well I put my 2 "rusty pails" on the table and rearranged the cookies in the oval thing..
and this is what I did with one of my longaberger baskets..I put the floral foam and moss down and stuck in the pillow and more of the cookies plus the ones from Carmen and some that I made that I just sprinkled cinnamon and dipped in wax..and wrapped a red gingham ribbon around it..they sit on my counter in the kitchen..once easter is done they will go on the kitchen table..;) like a little spring bouquet to make me smile...I am hooked on these..I am going to look for some baby cookie cutters and make my little sister some for the babys room..:)
and this is where I put the cat grass cups and when I came downstairs this morning..there was dirt in the sink..so I know one of my little stinkers was having a snack..:) well we are getting our drizzle today..and it is just a cloudy dreary day..going to get a birthday surprise made for my friend Cindy her birthday is tomorrow and I want to get it off this week...have a wonderful rest of your sunday and thanks for always stopping by and leaving me comments..I love reading them...:) and welcome to my recent followers..don't be shy..leave me a comment..:)

GorGeouS DaY FoR an EaSteR Egg HuNt..

Hey there Guys and Gals..what a gorgeous day for our Easter brunch and Easter Egg hunt..first off was the brunch..there was lots of great eggy casseroles, waffles, pancakes and muffins..my muffins were a hit with the little ones too..:) you notice my prim easter can amongst the good food..That's my good pal Heather and her little one Troy..
this was our table..look how cute they had the tables set up..all colored table cloths and those little cups all along the tables..(I brought 4 home for my kittys as it is cat grass planted in those and my cats love it.;)
Everyone getting their bellys full and fueled for the big Egg hunt..;)
My other very good pal Peggy telling the kids a story while we hurried and cleaned up the tables so we could all get ready for the hunt..
this was the little kids gearing up to get 10 eggs each..(hopefully)..the bigger kids were in a different area..
the search is on...
the teenagers hid the eggs all through the grass..there was 2 big eggs, a golden one and a silver one..and who ever found those..got a big chocolate easter bunny...the little plastic eggs were filled with candy..

here is one little boy named Hap, but he goes by Happy, he had his trick or treat pumpkin for this just occasion to collect eggs..hey what ever works...some had plastic bags and others the traditional basket..;)
this little brother and sister duo cleaned up on the eggs..

he had a ways to go...
even our missionaries got into action..he claims he didn't make his basket..but I beg to differ...lol..the kids actually made these when they were done eating..;)
here is another brother duo..younger brother Logan on the left and big brother Elias on the right...they live just up the street from me..they had some cute baskets and they got their "limit"...the kids had a great time and I think the adults did too...they are talking rain tomorrow..so this was an absolute perfect day...I got a wonderful package in the mail from a wonderful blogging friend..I will share that one tomorrow...I went to Wally world and got some more spring cookie cutters and made another batch of salt dough cookies and this time left them prim with just cinnamon and wax..some are for my sister and a great blogging friend of mine...I love making those cookies..if you haven't tried them you must they are easy peasy lemon squeezy and you will make more of these..everyone at church loved them and a couple of them went home with some folks..but i was able to wrangle the rest and brought them home..I will show you what i did with them in tomorrow post..have a great rest of your day..the kittys got quite a show today as well..and that will wait till tomorrow or monday..but I got some awesome photos..:) until next time...Take care and thanks for stopping by...

It'S BeEn A BuSy DaY...;)

Well it has been a busy but fun day today..I had to bake some muffins for our Church brunch tomorrow and decided to use my mini muffin pan and made 33 little muffins out of one box of blueberry muffin mix..I love how cute and little they are..
I then used the same muffin mix different box and made a blueberry loaf...I have this done before 11am as my 2 good pals from church were coming at 11am for a visit so we could brainstorm for the centerpieces at the brunch tomorrow..
Well Peg brought over these cute little cups some filled with moss and others with cat grass..and had some filled with little eggs..so we put my salt dough ornaments in these..I will take better photos tomorrow..but I couldn't wait to show you the cups...I tied little ribbons to the sticks to look like leaves..:) very simple and really cute..
I had 2 paint cans that I purchased last year to use and when Peg saw them in the plain paint can she asked if I would get them done to put on the food table..so this is what I did..I am pleased as punch with how they turned out..I put in a little t-light in with the cookies as well..
and while I was letting the paint dry on the can I finished the apron for my friends brother-in-law..I just had to do the pocket on it...I used my ruffle foot..I am in love with that foot..so worth the money...I added the little ruffle to the top of the pocket and embroidered the skull on it..he is going to love it..:)
I used the blanket stitch to go around the pocket...nice finish...Now I want to make more aprons and embroider stuff on them..as I have some really cute prim designs that will look so cute with the aprons..:)
Peg brought me over a cute little carrot stuffed with Jelly beans in the inside..cute idea huh? you just sew a carrot shape leave the top open..cut around the edges with pinking shears and tie a green ribbon around the top...super easy..great little basket stuffers for easter.;)I made that cheesy potato soup that I got from some one in blog land..it is tasty and easy to make..I also made a loaf of bread in the worthless bread maker that I have that is being returned..I have made 3 different things and the bread won't rise..used new yeast and it still doesn't work right so it is being returned tomorrow after the brunch..; I went to my stampin up club class tonight..and learned some fun techniques that I am itching to do on some doll tags..gotta get some of the stuff at joanns to save money..got my coupons..so I will definitely go that route..well it is 10:30pm..I am pooped but had a great day...it was pretty so the kids got to go out and watch the squirrels feast and the birds flit about...tomorrow is supposed to be another gorgeous day 63 degrees..but rain on sunday...Have a wonderful weekend everyone..:)

CoOkiEs and GreAT IdEaS...

Hello there!!! I made salt dough cookies yesterday for our church function this saturday..we are having a brunch and egg hunt and we are decorating the tables in a long row down the center of the tables with little cups filled with dirt and not sure what else..so I said I would bake these salt dough cookies..I love how easy they were to do and painting them was equally as fun..
I made 2 batches and got 17 cookies in each one...I put them in a paint can that I need to paint and decorate up might do that today or tomorrow and take as well..
aren't they cute? I really had a ball making these and I dipped them in the wax when I was done..I had this cute little crockpot that is probably used for a one person soup sort of thing..and I put my wax in it and it dipped them puurrffeecctly..;)
I was reading "simple" magazine the other day and they had some great ideas to make your life easier..so I thought I would share those with you..the top one is a hanger that you untwist the top and insert the ribbons on it..
a little clear nail polish on the bottoms of your shave gels or shower gels that are in the shower and they get rusty..this will help prevent that..
a tea strainer as a sugar duster..I love this idea..
and my favorite..a mis matched pair of crocks turn/planter..I love this..they hung them with string and the holes are already there..you line the toes with moss, then plant pansies, viola, or pincushion ivy and hang them from the heel strap..these would look so cute on any porch and a great conversation piece too..I have several that we don't/can't wear any more due to our poor feet and they are in bright colors..a nice touch of color and whimsy..:) well it is a dreary day today after yesterdays gorgeous day of 65 and sun..I sat outside while the cookies baked and read my home tour addition of country sampler..it felt soooo good..we have the garden all tilled and prepared to plant..hubby found a bunch of potatoes from last years garden and got those planted..now we need to do the rest come pay day...well I am off to sew and get my little sisters stuff done and the other projects/surprises I have promised folks out there..(you know who you are)..sorry they have been sooo late..but I promise they will be worth it..have a great rest of your thursday..:)
