SpRiNg cLeAnInG and KitTehS...

My friend came over yesterday to help me unload the butcher block stand that I got from my next door neighbor and I wanted to show her the armoire and how it looks and when I opened it up for her to see guess who was hiding in here in her own little private getaway..Gracie Macie..she scared us as we weren't expecting to find her there..
She does love a good place to snuggle...and read a good book..;)
Well yesterday and today I have been spring cleaning..inside and out..and Podylious loves to help and loves to get in baskets or boxes and so I had to get her photos..that basket is now under my desk and houses my patterns that I am currently working on or getting too soon...
I also straightened up my fabrics as they were needing it..you will notice the blankie there..that is for Silly Millie to snooze on and not get my fabric all hairy...she loves it there..she is like the princess and the pea..
I moved out an old unit to the curb and will put a free sign on it..so in place of it..I have my ribbons bin and other misc..I used to have the unit with a tv and a bunch of books, phone books and just stuff..so it forced me to go through it and clean it out..got rid of the phone books..i will go on line to look for something..I must have thrown out about 7..I didn't realize I had that many..and now I have my projects that I am working on and fabric here too..it just opened up the space and I love it so much better..
my working surface is tidyed up too..this is my old pfaff machine that my mom gave me..i still use it when I am embroidering with the other machine..
and here is my new butcher block stand that I got for free...I love it...I straightened up this wall some too...I love being able to see things at a glance..I was so on a roll ( I am going to sound like Jim Carrey now from Mask) "Somebody Stop me.... I'mmmm smokinnnn....:) lol..I put Pody out for a bit today and decided to pick the stuff that is growing in our veggie garden and get it prepped for planting..hopefully in the near future..and I went next door and picked more of my neighbors weeds that propigate faster then bunnys..and you know what they say about crap..it all goes down hill and so do these weeds..so since they are not going to get to it..I did...now I feel much better..sad to say that renters will be moving in and they will never do the yard work...unless they are curtious and love doing yard work..anyway..I am going to start on some embroidering..its been to long and I have no excuse now.. I hope you all have a great rest of your day.:>)

"TwEaKinG"....

Hey there and Happy Hump Day!!..I have been doing some tweaking today as well as yesterday...seems its a domino affect when you move something around..something else gets moved and so on..This little green table has had many different uses and has serve me well. I picked this little table up sometime in 1995 for $35.00 and I guess this is when I started getting into the primitive look..We took this little table with us to Italy and for a time it was an entry way table and then here above our little Kitchen table ..That is our baby Stanley there he is 9 years old this year and his big brother (late) boo bear or bearbum as we called him...they loved sitting here and reading with me on those days off..it was my favorite place to be..just a cozy little spot..you will notice that is tile on the wall from floor to ceiling..it reminds me of hospital gowns..everything was tiled..

here is where it currently sat in the master bedroom..the decor changed all the time..and this was an old photo..
and here is where it sits today..I moved it to the front porch and put the flowers and thermos on there.I think it will stay put there until we either move or cover the back porch..I love it here though..
and here is what sits in its place..the big wicker chair that was on the other side of the room..I am trying to get Pody Lynn to use it as her bed..you see her blankie there..well old habits die hard and she wants it where it usually is...so back on the floor it goes..:)
Here is what I did yesterday...I took out my quilts that were in an old trunk and set about putting this together..Mike still has to put the molding back on top..hopefully this weekend.:)
This is how it will remain as the one door impedes your way into the room..the piece of fabric that is draping the one door will eventually be the top curtains in the room.and as you can see the window mirror is shoved in the corner..I tried to use it in the inside as a window feature..but it was too big and didn't look right..so all the stuff that was on the little table minus the suit cases is in here now..
here it is at night time..:)
I added the little quilt pillow to this this morning..
Here is where the old T.V. is now..in the guest bedroom..this is hubbys military/guest room..

can you see the woodpecker..I just snapped this like 20 minutes ago..
there he is on top of an old dead tree..I have Pody Lynn outside enjoying the sunshine..they told us it was going to be rainy today..and it is just the opposite..around here the weather changes hourly..we got our rain yesterday...and it was cold..have a fire going most of the day....Well I am off to get some lunch since I missed breakfast..too busy decorating..and then get to some sewing so I have something for our March 1st Humble arts..Have a wonderful day..:)

MoRe GoOdiEs ArriVed In ThE MaiL...

Hey there Everyone..I got a package in the mail yesterday from my wonderful yet to meet good friend Cindy from Cynthia lee designs and I am just giddy with delight..this girl knows me soooo well..I love her handmade goodies and knew I was in for a treat..heck getting these last two packages was like christmas..and I think better then christmas...See the kitty makedo on the first shelf on the left that is her own design and I Love!!! the stand it is on..looks great with all of my other kittys doesn't it..
Next I got this sweet Pillow that she digitized on her embroidery machine just for me..she added a little rusty star to the sign...So Cindy when are you going to start selling your designs..cause I want this one..it is just wonderful..and it looks so good with my Kitty that Carmen just recently gave me..:)
oh and last but certainly not least she painted a wonderful kitty design on a rolling pin just for me..I sent her a bunch of rolling pins last fall (I think) and she sent one back with these kittys she painted..I love this..you did an awesome job on it..and you know how I love my kittehs!!!..:)
She also sent this paint so I can texture my electric candles as they don't sell this at our Joanns any longer..and she got me the last jar of it..She also included a wonderful card that was the cherry on top..I have yet to meet Cindy..but feel like we have known each other for ever...This blogging thing has been so wonderful as I have met the neatest guys and gals and I love sharing with you all and reading what you are up too as well...Cindy thank you so much for hitting the nail on the head you totally made my whole day..:) You spoiled me and I love it..
Well the weather is not sunny today..we are supposed to get our rain starting back this afternoon..but it was sure a nice week that truly spoiled us..I even mowed our lawn yesterday because it needed it..and the pollen count is huge here..Hubby has severe seasonal allergies and they are in full force here..We had our great pals Pasquale and Isaac come for dinner last night..(they are in my church and are brothers) that we just love..they humored me last night by moving that huge entertainment center on the other wall to see if it would actually fit on an angle and well we must have moved it 5 times before we put it right back where we started..it is freaking huge and just didn't look right..it needs a big room to do what I want to do with it..so might take off the doors so I can display my stuff...will keep toying with that one..but we had a nice ham dinner with mashed tators and brussels with tomatoes..I made a peach/pinapple cobbler for dessert and they played on the playstation 3 while I watched..Well that is it for me today..have a wonderful tuesday everyone..:)

"CrUiSiNg" and A giFt FrOm CaRmeN...

Hello Everyone!! It is another Beautiful day here in Indianola...it is 8:50am and the sun is shining...Yesterday I got a wonderful package in the mail from my good pal Carmen of Waxed out Creative Life..She sent me a GREAT smelling box of yummy goodness!! when I got home from decorating our church for the "cruise" we were going to embark on..this was on my door step..and I couldn't wait to rip it open...and this is what I found..A cute little warm and natural kitty to add to my ever growing collection of kittys..:) Kittys are like lays potato chips...you can't have just one..lol..and I certainly do not..
Oh in these two bags are the bestest smelling yummys ever...the top bag are some of her dough/dipped in the best smelling Vanilla walnut scent..OH I want to eat them..(I want the recipe for the scent)...oh they smelled good in the bag..the bottom one is hot apple pie tarts..shaped in little pie wedges...I don't know if I can use them they are so cute..oh but you know I will...who can resist a home that smells like you have been baking all day.:)
this is where I put my kitty on a shelf in my dining room...now everyone will see it when they walk in the door..:)
my dough bowl fillers..I put them in a longaberger bowl/basket with some cloth eggs and green strips of fabric..they are little bunnys and flowers and tulips..these are too much..I love them and had been admiring these on others blogs and was going to make some and then Carmen sends me a bag of them...Great minds think alike..;)
and my sunflower card that she sent...it adds so much cheery color and I thank you so much!!!! Carmen for sending me these goodies to brighten my day..:) you are the best...
Okay here is the "cruise" I took last night with others that are in our church..once a month we have an event/ward activity in our church and I am on the committee to help plan and execute these events..The leader of our Group, Peg has a list of the events and then we meet up to let our creative juices run wild and plan them..We had a great time just the 3 of us..Kerry included to decorate and get it looking like a cruise ship...so at 12:30 pm I arrived at our church to get on our way..This is what it looked like when we were done decorating.. all the tables have a little something from different countries on them..a little sombrero topped the tables and a little paper lantern for the candles and there was something different on all the rest..
Here is the stage with some more goodies..
the other side of the stage...it was fun setting up for this and seeing all sorts of things from different countries that folks got while on their missions or on their vacations..the rug shown is 30 years old and in wonderful shape..the eggs are mine and they come from italy..I will post those when I do my easter decorating..
The drink table..we had the best tasting punch..I am told I will get the recipe..we had them in little cups with umbrellas in them..that was our Hawaiian stop..
some of the tables decorated...

This is the entry to the "ship"..I made the signs on the doors..I made the port holes..they were so much fun to make..I used my water color crayons from stampin up..oh I love these things..Will be getting more when I have my party in March..they are fabulous...
Our Cruise ship was called the USS Kingston..(that is our ward name)....
here is the sign that greeted folks as they came in..
Here is Logan Cleaver talking about his mission to the Phillipines and the wonderful paintings he picked up that he said were like $10.00..The painter added him and his companion in the lower painting for a tad extra money..:)
great paintings....we had Lumpia for our stop here..oh they were homemade..and they were soooo good..
Here is another great gal Rusty Taylor talking about her Mission to Korea..she made her gown..it was so cute and I just wanted to curl up in it..we had kimchee soup and the real spicy kimchee..oh man i love that stuff..
here is some of the items that Rusty brought to share with us...
These are the wedding or marriage ducks that folks in Korea get when they get married..if the husband comes home from work and sees the ducks looking like this..he knows he is in the dog house and better back track and go and get some flowers to cheer the little lady up..you will notice the female duck has her backside to the male duck..:)
if they are facing each other..all is well in the household..I loved that story...
We also went to Hondurus and had Chirizio with soft tortillas..oh that was good and again home made..We went to Italy..and I made that Pepperoni per Padalle pasta for everyone..it was a hit and leftovers for one of the guys today for breakfast..as he had an early morning meeting..so it was waiting for him in the church fridge. My good pal Pasquale Shaver talked about his mission to italy..and he was the most entertaining..he has us in stitches...(he and his brother come to our house once a month for dinner and fun)...speaking of which they come tomorrow night..Can't wait...and for dessert..we were back in the United states and had chocolate cake and cheese cake, peanut butter bars and rice crispie treats....it was nice to sit and chit chat and learn about the different cultures and taste the cuisine too..and we did it all in one night..not bad eh?...
I hope you all have a wonderful sunday..I gotta go get breakfast going and then get myself ready for church..
I hope you enjoyed the cruise as well..:)
