SnEeK peEk, & shoPPinG Fun.:)

Good afternoon everyone..I hope your friday is going swimmingly so far..;) I am starting another penny rug and here is the sneak peak..I am also making 2 more penny rugs that will have Robin of Bird in the hand designs on them..will post them when they are finished..thanks for the compliments on my rugs..I truly am enjoying doing them..and yes there is always a cat on my lap..one gets off and another gets on..I am like a ride at the fair.;) I do have the best lap in town..hubby lays down on my lap and is out like a light..Gals do you have the same problem.;)lol..
wednesday when I was out with Sarah at the doctors when we were done we headed to the Goodwill outlet store..they weigh your stuff and that is how you pay for it.;) had I purchased all this stuff at the prices they had on these items.I would have paid 35 dollars or so..I walked out paying 12.00.;) I got this wonderful americana table runner for my little sister...she just got a brand new table and it will look so good and she does americana in her home..;its 73 inches long and looks like its brand new.;)
I got this sweet little toy for my neighbor next store..this is for her little boy Landon.;) and it too looked brand new..it plays tunes.;) and lights up..
I picked up to wooden baskets..I love wooden baskets..I also got a cute kitty cat ornament so I need to put one of my kittys in it and hang it or leave and use it on my kitty christmas tree..I got the little sewing basket and the little sport pillow also for Brittany next door..she is a budding sewer and we all need a basket to store our stuff in.;)
the deal of the day was getting all this wool..I have shrunk them all in the wash..and they are ready to go for penny rugs or recycled mittens etc.;) this was 4 dollars total for all of this..
I purchased these on ebay the other day and I can't wait till halloween to make cards or tags for my dolls..they are embossers..
and I got this crow sizzix to make crow for penny rugs..I have 2 cut out so you can see them..I think one is going on the first photo..:) stay tuned..

I ordered this felt from a gal on etsy..I love the variety of colors and can't wait to use these in my penny rug making projects.:) I am at 798 posts..so 800 I will be doing a giveaway..so stay tuned for next week sometime..gotta get something put together..I can't believe more didn't post about the "farting Preacher"..I nearly busted a gut listening to it last night..you can find them all on utube.;) I hope you all have a great weekend.;) I am having my Shelf reliance "thrive" food storage party tomorrow at 1pm..I am having it at a local clubhouse...should be a good time..tasting and learning about these great foods that will last up to 30 years..with the way times are right now...we need to have a back up system and be able to live on what we have incase something should happen like say you lose your job..at least we will have food on the table..something to think about..so if you haven't started on getting your food supply now is a great time..get it before food prices go up..start by getting a case here and there and keep doing it.;) its called being prepared.:)
have a great weekend..will try to remember to take my camera and get some photos to share of tomorrows party.;)
here is a funny I want to leave you all with..;)

A RETIREE'S TRIP TO COSTCO

Yesterday I was at my local COSTCO buying a large bag of Purina dog
chow for my loyal pet, Jake, the Wonder Dog and was in the check-out
line when a woman behind me asked if I had a dog.

What did she think I had an elephant? So since I'm retired and have
little to do, on impulse I told her that no, I didn't have a dog, I
was starting the Purina Diet again. I added that I probably shouldn't,
because I ended up in the hospital last time, but that I'd lost 50
pounds before I awakened in an intensive care ward with tubes coming
out of most of my orifices and IVs in both arms.

I told her that it was essentially a Perfect Diet and that the way
that it works is, to load your pants pockets with Purina Nuggets and
simply eat one or two every time you feel hungry. The food is
nutritionally complete so it works well and I was going to try it
again. (I have to mention here that practically everyone in line was
now enthralled with my story.)

Horrified, she asked if I ended up in intensive care, because the dog
food poisoned me I told her no, I stepped off a curb to sniff a
poodle's ass and a car hit me.

I thought the guy behind her was going to have a heart attack he was
laughing so hard.

Costco won't let me shop there anymore.

Better watch what you ask retired people. They have all the time in
the world to think of crazy things to say. Forward this (especially)
to all your retired friends...... it will be their Laugh for the
day!!!

  2. Boy do I ever wish we lived closer! I would love to go to Goodwill with you - it looks like you find all the good bargains. :)
The wool, oh the wool, so gorgeous! I still haven't taken the plunge, but I can tell that you aren't going to rest until you've lured me into it with your awesome samples! :)
I love the looks of the sneak peak! Are you designing these on your own?
Thanks for the fun story about the retired guy. I can't wait to share that with my dad! (I can picture him doing something like that...)

    The wool is great!
    You are so busy, busy!
What a kind event a food storage party, so many people are just not even concerned at all, about being prepared for tomorrow!
    enjoy your evening!

  6. Your posts just brighten my days and nites! You are too funny! And do I wish we had a Good Will store like that near me. All the thrift and Good Wills here on Long Island have ugly 80's furniture and home decor. Love your crows and Halloween stuff~~my favorite holiday is old fashioned Halloween with traditional black & orange. Can't wait to see more of your work! My cats are a magnet to my lap. If they can get there before my 5 year old! One cat, Robin, likes me to carry him around like a baby. I should get one of those baby slings for him.

  10. Gina,
"wow" love all your Goodwill finds. I need to check out our store more often. I live 45 minutes from our store so it is usually a major trip to the big city.
I will have to give your dog food diet a try...last year I lost 45 pounds on a high protein/low fat diet. The gals at work were shocked and still ask me if I am on my diet. Think I will tell them I have started this "new" diet and take some food with me. They will really think I have lost my marbles....thanks for the laugh, I needed it tonight after and 8 hour shift working all by myself in apparel.
    Prim Blessings

  13. Hi Gina,

Our goodwill store is pricy ! For instance, wool blazers are 7.99 each here in town and in Altoona, Pa they are 5.99. Altoona is a higher end type of area with a higher wage base, too.

We have two goodwill stores in our town and they are full of mostly junk. Very rarely do I find anything great !

    Have a great weekend !

    Hugs,
    Linda

I never get deals like you got at the GW. I think I'm always a day late and a dollar short. Have a great weekend!
