here is a funny I want to leave you all with..;)

Yesterday I was at my local COSTCO buying a large bag of Purina dog
chow for my loyal pet, Jake, the Wonder Dog and was in the check-out
line when a woman behind me asked if I had a dog.

What did she think I had an elephant? So since I'm retired and have
little to do, on impulse I told her that no, I didn't have a dog, I
was starting the Purina Diet again. I added that I probably shouldn't,
because I ended up in the hospital last time, but that I'd lost 50
pounds before I awakened in an intensive care ward with tubes coming
out of most of my orifices and IVs in both arms.

I told her that it was essentially a Perfect Diet and that the way
that it works is, to load your pants pockets with Purina Nuggets and
simply eat one or two every time you feel hungry. The food is
nutritionally complete so it works well and I was going to try it
again. (I have to mention here that practically everyone in line was
now enthralled with my story.)

Horrified, she asked if I ended up in intensive care, because the dog
food poisoned me I told her no, I stepped off a curb to sniff a
poodle's ass and a car hit me.

I thought the guy behind her was going to have a heart attack he was
laughing so hard.

Costco won't let me shop there anymore.

Better watch what you ask retired people. They have all the time in
the world to think of crazy things to say. Forward this (especially)
to all your retired friends...... it will be their Laugh for the

  1. What a fab Goodwill haul...I just got that same little Frog toy for my friend's little boy at my Goodwill...$2.99!

  2. Boy do I ever wish we lived closer! I would love to go to Goodwill with you - it looks like you find all the good bargains. :)
The wool, oh the wool, so gorgeous! I still haven't taken the plunge, but I can tell that you aren't going to rest until you've lured me into it with your awesome samples! :)
I love the looks of the sneak peak! Are you designing these on your own?
Thanks for the fun story about the retired guy. I can't wait to share that with my dad! (I can picture him doing something like that...)

  3. Wonderful deals at the Goodwill!
    The wool is great!
    You are so busy, busy!
What a kind event a food storage party, so many people are just not even concerned at all, about being prepared for tomorrow!
    enjoy your evening!

  4. Gina the joke was too funny...and wow have you been busy at the thrift store and etsy...the thrift store finds are awesome...I need to go again...I love neat!

  5. WOW!! There is never anything that looks that good at the Goodwill here. Those are nice things and a great price. All your penny rugs are sure are a busy lady. Hugs

  6. Your posts just brighten my days and nites! You are too funny! And do I wish we had a Good Will store like that near me. All the thrift and Good Wills here on Long Island have ugly 80's furniture and home decor. Love your crows and Halloween stuff~~my favorite holiday is old fashioned Halloween with traditional black & orange. Can't wait to see more of your work! My cats are a magnet to my lap. If they can get there before my 5 year old! One cat, Robin, likes me to carry him around like a baby. I should get one of those baby slings for him.

  7. Oh Gina you always find some of the greatest deals WOW....I love your new wool

  8. LOL! You found some good stuff at GW, Love the lil' frog:) Hope you have a great weekend!!!

  9. I miss the goodwill store and salvation army store..None any where close to me but if I go up north to visit Nellie there is 1 by her. Don't forget to let your friends know about the give away I am hosting now. It is a good deal.
Names are in the mail to you and I can't wait to see how they are when you send them back,
    Have a great week end

  10. Gina,
"wow" love all your Goodwill finds. I need to check out our store more often. I live 45 minutes from our store so it is usually a major trip to the big city.
I will have to give your dog food diet a try...last year I lost 45 pounds on a high protein/low fat diet. The gals at work were shocked and still ask me if I am on my diet. Think I will tell them I have started this "new" diet and take some food with me. They will really think I have lost my marbles....thanks for the laugh, I needed it tonight after and 8 hour shift working all by myself in apparel.
    Prim Blessings

  11. great goodies.... Goodwill is my very favorite store.
love the wool. some beautiful colors. I'm thinking about making some tiny mittens as ornaments for Christmas. It may just be a thought.
I'm anxious to see the giveaway goodies. Since all mine are gone, I need something else to concentrate on!

  12. Gina,
What great finds at the GW. Love the wool that you got and can't wait to see what you are doing with the crows.
I'm doing better than I was this afternoon when you emailed me. I'll get back with you soon.

  13. Hi Gina,

Our goodwill store is pricy ! For instance, wool blazers are 7.99 each here in town and in Altoona, Pa they are 5.99. Altoona is a higher end type of area with a higher wage base, too.

We have two goodwill stores in our town and they are full of mostly junk. Very rarely do I find anything great !

    Have a great weekend !

  14. Gina,
I just had to say thank you for making me laugh! Your too funny.
I never get deals like you got at the GW. I think I'm always a day late and a dollar short. Have a great weekend!
    Prim Blessings,

  15. Love the Goodwill stores. I hunt them out like some people hunt for Wal-Mart!! Love your wool, can't wait to see what you do with it. Have a great weekend...(millstonemercantile)

  16. You are so good at finding bargains, don't you just love to find a bargain!!! Enjoy all of your goodies!!! Awesome!!!

  17. GW Outlet store? Never heard of it but I need to see if we have one, that is awesome! Great haul!

Beautiful felt! Love those colors and patterns. The patterns give it a rich look of texture, very neat!

  18. Your story made me laugh out the family thinks I have lost it!!! You are so funny!!!
