BaKinG, BeEr In THe ReaR ChiCkEn, BBQ. Me A DaTinG SerViCe, & BiNgO.

Good sunday Evening..Sorry for the late post...went to church and been just flittin around here ever since...Yesterdays bbq was a lot of fun..and I thought I would show you what I made for this shindig.;) I got this recipe from Cat Haven crafts..it is called Hamburger crunch.I added a bit more to mine...like a whole onion, garlic, hot pepper flakes...and it was a hit..I had 2 helpings left to bring home..so I had a bit for lunch today...it was super easy and tasty..;)
I whipped up whipping cream...I added a teaspoon of Vanilla and a tablespoon of sugar and made sure my bowl and whisk attachment was ice cold before I started..turned on the mixer and let it run for about 10 minutes or so...nothing like homemade whipping cream..
these are my Martha Stewart shortbreads that I made as we were having Rasberry shortcakes last night..one of the guys that Mike works with named Dave asked if I wanted to go in cahoots and make these...so I did..everyone loved em too..whats not to like theres 4 sticks of butter in this..and you know what Paula Deen always says..everythings better with butter..
here is the recipe...
1 cup confectioners sugar
4 sticks of butter room temp..(I stuck mine in the microwave for 25 seconds)..
1/2 tsp salt
cream all of the above until fluffy consistancy
add 4 cups of sifted flour a little at a time.
Stir to get the lumps out, BUT don't overwork it..work it until you can see no more flour.
Put on a board and compress into a cake (a flat round). Divide it in half. Roll one then the other.
Roll onto granulated sugar, 1 cup.( I didn't use that much)..I just put it out a little at a time and added as needed.
roll 1/2 inch thickness with a bisquit cutter or jar lid (what ever you have). Place on parchment paper (I did not do this) and it was just fine, Baking sheet, Bake at 350 for 20 minutes. should be light and golden. Cool on a rack..You can smell them baking..thats how I knew they were just about ready to take out of the oven.;)

and here is the finished product..yummy.;)
everyone enjoying good food and great company..Thats my hubbys work with the little awnings..:)..he loves his job..directly in front of his office is the beautiful marina and the water...there is a boardwalk there too.:)
Tucker playing with his girlfriend Mona..oh he loves her..loves to chew on her ears.;)
This little gal came up the plank..her name is Frosty..she is a full size australian shepherd..I think Tucker was smitten..she was so soft and fluffy..just beautiful.;) loved her facial markings..

Okay this is one of the liveaboards Chris with his two dogs..he is Single Ladies and looking for someone that likes to stay in shape and the great outdoors..
so if you are interested let me know.;)

Okay I am making Beer in the Rear Chicken again tonight..trying to get more chicken in our diet..so I thought I would show you how easy it is..you clean out the innards wash it with water all over..pat dry with paper towels..put a little olive oil rubbed all over..then put on salt, pepper, and we used old bay seasoning..inside and out.
then we stuck a half can of beer up his rear and balance him onto the grill with his legs..put him on a cold grill so you can get him balanced better on it..cover the top of the neck so it keeps the moisture in...we have a 3 burner grill..so it sits in the middle and we only turn on the outer 2 burners...cook for about 1-1/2 hours..or check to make sure the juices run clear..hubby just turned it off and it is just sitting on the grill staying warm..so along with our meal we are having a baked tator and small dinner salad..:)

Okay are you all ready for your 2 words...have you been chomping at the bit waiting for me to stop talking? okay here you all go:
bobbing for Apples
haybales
I hope you all have a great rest of your evening..
Hubby started clearing out the rest of the debris in the back yard..burning it..got rid of old bills etc too..oh and we are calling today Augtober...as it has started off so mild..but you know what its not raining and its not hot..I am so not complaining..I love this weather..really feels like fall to me..but according to Acuweather our summer is coming...:) we might work in the yard clearing out the back portion by taking down raspberrys, ferns and that danged morning glory..I hate that stuff to intrusive...and I am itching to paint my bathroom and get it more primmed up..so stay tuned..you know I will take lots of photos and I am hoping for a huge change...
Take care and thanks for always stopping by and saying hi and leaving me your wonderful comments.:)
