PlaYinG CaTch Up..BeEn tOo LonG...

Hello there my fellow bloggers..is it just me or am I in a rut? Blogging just isn't holding its same charm for me these days..hence why I haven't been in blog land lately..haven't had any desire to sit and read them either..just takes up so much time..so is it me or have many of you been feeling it too..I spend so much time in front of the computer..facebooking..pinterest, blogs..its just too much..I do love visiting with you all and seeing what you are up too as it seems its the only interaction I get these days..other then church, doctors, and grocery shopping thats pretty much it..I would rather be walking my dog, crocheting or working in the yard..I am almos at 1000 posts..and I couldn't wait to get on and read everyones blogs..now I could care less..sorry this is how I have been feeling lately..I only want to keep up on my closet ones and drop everyone else..which I may do..anyway back to my post today..my friend from church made these chocolate kiss roses for me for Valentines day..red cellophane, floral tape on faux flower stems..thought they were too cute..still haven't eaten them yet..
we have been doing spring cleaning of sorts..we both went through our closets and oh it feels good to get in them again..and not be so jammed packed..and this rug was in my closet and I decided it needed to make its way in the living room again..I love the sun coming in the windows..and the kittehs love it too..;).I love this rug here again..I spent enough on it..it doesn't need to be in the closet..

I put the one we had in the living room here in the dining room and I love it here..fits perfect and adds some depth and warmth to the room..
On Saturday we took a friend to breakfast as he is leaving to be a long haul truck driver and we won't see him for about 2 months or so..and oh breakfast was so yummy..I love pancakes..and I had blueberry with sausage and eggs..and a small cup of really hot cocoa..I didn't finish it as it was too hot..but it was good..we headed back to hubbys work to drop off our friend..He is a liveaboard guy who lives on his boat..and they had this cute little store 3 doors up called "artsy fartsy"..I love that name..and she had this plate out on her sale table..and I couldn't resist it..big glass plate with a black sheep and red..my favorite colors..it was only $15.00+ tax..

I put it on my hutch..it goes so well there..have any one of you tried those "cutie" oranges..man are they good..so sweet...love em.;)
I did some tweeking in the entry way..the cats photos are usually here..but we have two rowdy kittehs that keep knocking them over..so I put them away..and put down the penny rug and moved the firkins that were on the floor that I got from Linda and put them here along with two kittys..simple and I like it now..I crocheted that hat too..I wear it on my walks..keeps my head warm.;)

on our way home from breakfast we hit an estate sale and I got this big heavy copper milk can for $15.00..he had 20 on it..but he gave it to me for 15...
looks good with my milk man containers on the other side of the door (not shown)..
on Tuesday I went grocery shopping and to walmart to get these bins for clothes etc..this one has my faux fur and some wool in it..two are in our bedroom with clothes that are too big but not getting rid of them..and the other has all my yarn in it on the couch where I sit at night crocheting my heart out.;)
I had my doctors (monthly blood draw) yesterday and after that I headed to Joanns and got more yarn..

I love yarn..will be going back next week for their commotion sale and getting 7 of the expensive yarns at 40-50% off..can't wait..yarn is getting spendy like everything else is..but this should keep me busy and happy for a while..
here is what I have been working on since January..these above are headbands..the bluish one went to my friend from church..she and I walk together on occasion...and she looked so cute in it..and it brings out her beautiful blue eyes..she is also teaching me pilates..she is an instructor and teaches a class on mondays at 9:15am..so I have been twice now..and I love it..its teaching me to strengthen my core and limber up more..the first week hurt for 3 days..this time I didn't feel anything..but we did a different work out..so will see what this monday brings..

I've made about 20 items so far..I took my hats and scarves to my doctors appt yesterday to show my nurse and the girls (staff) there and they loved them..
I gave my nurse this cute pair of fingerless gloves and they looked so cute on her..
not the best photo of my hand..but you get the picture..one of the gals loved these too..so she purchased a pair (that I am making in deep red/cranberry) and one of my head bands and a neck warmer scarf..so I made a sale and I think the other gal wants one of my head bands..making a bunch of these for the market and for my show in december..
here is a black neck warmer..I am in my pj's and no makeup..thats why the camera is hiding my face..lol..

here are the neck warmers..the upper one on the left..I also gave to my nurse..it looked so cute on her..and I sold the red/cranberry one to the other gal..(not shown)..the black one is the one I have on in the photo above..
I finished these last night..have to sew on the buttons then they are done..super cute and look so good with a jacket..I haven't seen many of these around..so hoping they are a hit..
I have been watching Dr. Oz..I record his show and love it..I learn so much on it..and he had this guy on his program..so I had to have the book..hoping it will help me to keep the weight off and maybe lose a bit more..as of today I am 1/2 pound away from my original goal..so I am now down 81.5 pounds..did the scales 3 times to make sure it wasn't messing with me..now I want to lose another 5 and be done..so will read this book and see it it works..
I also ordered these books..I want to learn more crochet stitches..cause there are some that I don't know..I do love the net for showing videos of the stitches..what would we do without the internet...
I am itching to crochet this flapper hat in these colors..love the rose colors..well that is it for me..I took Tucker for his walk today..its been 2 days since i have walked and it was so pretty out today..we had snow in some parts..(like 20 minutes away from where I live) that got slammed with it..we got snow flurries on sunday too..pretty coming down..I was on my way home from church when it started..glad it didn't stick..and we are only 10 days away from day lights savings..I love daylights savings..more day light to be out in the weather..I also have been picking weeds..we still have dandilions with their white and yellow blooms..crazy..wonder what will be in store for us this year with weather..I hope you all are doing well..have a great thursday and a great weekend too..thanks for stopping by and saying hi..I do love hearing from you.;) take care..:)

  1. Gina,
First - Good for you on the weight goal - YEAH! Second, I'd miss reading your blog if you leave blogland, But I would understand. I kind of go in spurts of posting. My life off the computer comes first (as does yours), I can always tell when I'm inbetween the kids' sports - I post more! I'm not sitting at a basketball game now - that's over and baseball practice has started which doesn't really affect me other than keeping clothes clean.

The Cuties are delicious - I bought fruit from our high school orchestra and it's no where near as good as the Cuties.

I was thinking of you yesterday - got my hair cut/colored/highlighted - just one color highlight, but thought, Maybe next time I'll get 2 colors put in and be like you! (Of course my 2 boys told me I looked "weird" when I got home - How am I ever going to have Daughter in laws with those kind of compliments?) ~Ann

  6. Sorry Sweetie but you ain't going anywhere! Just not gonna allow it no way no how! The real New Yorker will come out in me and I'll get as tough as I have to in order to keep you! ~~~I do understand what you are saying though and it does seem that alot of people are feeling that way. We end up spending so much time at a computer as the world passes by. I can't blog as often as I would like because I too am busy and sometimes I just don't have a whole lot of interesting stuff to write about! BUT....if we do it when we want and not cause we are expected to, I think the joy will return. SPring is almost here and we have to make the time to smell the flowers (and plant 'em too) but we can all still check in on each other with posts and photos. Hugs & more hugs, Maggie

  7. I can see your words again. Background no longer showing red. You have been really busy making all those items. Your rug looks nice. Put mine away for the winter. So much mud here. Makes it easier to keep the floors clean. Rugs to pricey to replace & way to big to just throw in the washer. I found one of those little greenhouses like yours. I will be using it soon. Congrats on the weight loss. You have done really well. Blessings!

  8. Hi Gina,
I would be so sad if you stopped blogging. I'm not posting as often as I used to and I cleaned up my blog list recently. I love reading blogs, but it does take up a lot of time when we follow so many. I'm so proud of you and all the weight that you've lost. Congrats!!!! My weigh-in days are on Monday and as of this pass Monday...I've lost 7.5 lbs.
I just love all the things that you have been crocheting!! Your hats are adorable!!
    Sending hugs your way.

  9. Gina, I know exactly how you feel about being on the computer...I go through the same thing. I'll be all hell-bent for leather on blogging like crazy, and then I kind of fizzle out for a while and struggle to do posts.

And reading everyone's blogs takes so much time when you have a crappy internet connection like mine; it comes and goes at will. I had to pare down my blog reading list so that I can try to visit my besties (like you) and sometimes even that's too much for me.

    *sigh*

    Aren't we a pair? LOL

    Pam

  13. Hey there stranger! Good to hear from you! Great job on the half pound away! It's my Friday weigh in and I'm at 138! 12 pounds down! feels good! Only 23 more to go! Thanks for always inspiring me!

I think I am going to try Zumba on Monday and Wednesdays! I have been working hard on the treadmill and I think I'm kinda stuck so I'm going to add something different in. :) Dance my butt off so to speak.

Love all your crocheted pieces. I used to love to crochet until my hands got so bad. Stupid tendinitis. I love your hats though!!! So cute!

I understand how you feel about only keeping up with those you are close to. I often feel the same. It's hard to try and keep up. I hope I'm on your short list! I would hate to not make the cut. :)

    1. Carmen you will always be on my list..you are my cheerleader and I love your posts..congrats on your weight loss..and my nurse does Zumba and loves it..and it will certainly kick it up for you..Dr. Oz said to not burn more then 500 calories a day because our bodies go into shut down modes and try to hold onto the fat stores cause it thinks we are starving..so if you are burning more then that and not eating alot..that might be why..so maybe don't go to the gym as often or not exercise as hard..remember I only do about 2 miles everyday..or sometimes only 4-5 days a week..have a great weekend..and keep up the great work.:)

  14. Darlin', that is why I left Facebook in January. I was spending too much time in front of this computer. I've also stayed away from those other sites. I'll stick with my blogging. I guess it's considered "old fashioned" but I do enjoy it.
Where on earth did you get that gorgeous rug???!!! It would look terrific in my living room! But will I have to sell an organ to afford it? ((giggle)) Your home is so warm and cozy.
Love the copper milk can. Is it genuine copper? Man, around here someone would nab that off the porch in a heartbeat for the $$. When we first moved out here in the sticks, someone stole my old pickle crock I had on my front porch. Thank the Lord above we found the culprit! We don't live far from lots of antique shops. Some are known for doing things like that. :> (
I would hate to see you leave blog-land, but you have to do what's best for you. ♥

  17. Hi, Gina:
I think it's just cabin fever that we get about this time of year. It's blah outside and very little sun and we need the sunshine to feel good. Vitamin D and all that.
I love the huge sheep plate, and I've got all my fabric tossed into two armoires. I need to go to Walmart and get the things you got.
The flapper hat from the book you want is going to look awesome on you. I love that you're so happy making the hats, neck warmers and gloves. You found something new that you are really good at and you love doing it.
Nice to always have you do a post. I look forward to them.

    1. I would just use agave nectar in place of your regular sugar..I use a 1/4 cup in place of a "one cup" of sugar..use unsweetened applesauce in place of oil or use canned pumpkin in place of the oil..I use the same amounts that the oil calls for..also I use almond flour now along with whole wheat and I use buckwheat too..in place of flour..or mix them half and half...I also use that truvia sugar..and I eat sugar free maple syrup..love it..and at the doctors today they had sugar free candy bars..herseys, reeses and peppermint patties..who knew..will be on the lookout for those..maybe when I hit walmart tomorrow.;) thank you for the compliments.;)I will never grow tired of them.;) I hope this helps.;)

  20. Hi Gina,
First, congrats on your amazing weight loss!!!!
And well, you know how I feel about blogging ... I started as a way to sell my prims through OFG,(WAY BACK) and found that I did not like to promote myself. So I went with what I love ... my farm and sheep ...
All those tuts I have been doing, is noting more than what I have done all winter ... it keeps me busy ... My hands have to move ... or I will eat! And I have stated several times that it took me longer to do the post than to create! I enjoy sharing things with folks ... but I really think that will be stopping ...
I try to visit blogs I enjoy ... but it is not my life. There are just to many things I want to do, and sitting in front of a computer screen is not one of them ... I confess I do most of my blog reading at work, on breaks and lunch ...
Gina, I know you won't give it up ... but life is to short to worry about HAVING to do a POST or COMMENT on someones blog.
Take care and enjoy all your free time!
    Teri
