SizZix, and Recipes

Hey there!!! Lara of Colonial Homestead asked if she could see my sizzix..so here you go...
This is a spendy little bugger..but you have a Joanns or Michaels 40-50% off coupon you can use it on this..I also use them on the die cuts as well..The 2 plastic plates are what hold the die cut in place with the fabric on top..I can fold my felt 3 times over and run it through this..just take it slow though..
It also cuts leather/pleather beautifully..here is a purse using the sizzix I put fabric behind the leather and stitched it on..I also make these purses and sell them...some go over your shoulder and some are hand held purses..I love to embroider on them..thats my fav..will post them tomorrow...
here are a few of my designs..I have a cute witch one. flowers, pumpkin and these above..you can even use that stiffer felt (in the craft section of your store) and make and embellish them for gifts etc..
This is the one used for the circles on my penny rugs..:)

The recipes I told you about yesterday are super easy and ohhh so good..
The tatertot casserole is
3 cans of cream of mushroom soup..(or cream of chicken or cream of celery) depends on what you like..don't dilute it..
1 pound of hamburger cooked, I don't drain it as I like the extra moisture..but you certainly can,
1 onion chopped and sauted with the hamburger,
salt and pepper to your taste
I also use on heaping tablespoon of the jarred Garlic. I love garlic
1 bag of tatertots..the small bag..I did use the 5 pound bag yesterday and used 4 cans of soup...to spread it out further and you could use 2 pounds of meat for this as well..you could also use sausage in place of the hamburger or add it to the hamburger...it is really your choice.
bake at 350 for 1 hour...it is a great comfort dish...:)

the spaghetti with Checca Sauce
10 leaves of Basil
1 package of cherry tomatoes
1/4-1/2 cup olive oil
salt and pepper
1/4 cup chopped parmesaen cheese
1-2 tablespoons garlic fresh or in the jar..(depends on how much garlic you like)
4 green onions chopped
Put these ingredients in your food processor and blend..if its a little dry add some pasta water
Use spaghetti noodles or I love Linguine..serves 4-6 depending on how much spaghetti you make..I then top it with little fresh mozzerella balls and you can grate more cheese on top...very refreshing on a hot day..

Well that is it for me..I am off to sew and will post the stuff I make today in tomorrows post..have a wonderful thursday.:)

  5. Gina,
I have been dying to try some penny rugs in my spare thyme .......LOL.....I thought I had seen somewhere that someone had used a machine to cut the circles ......now I know!!!!!! My sister has a Cricut? I had asked her and she didn't think it cut fabric.
    Thanks!
    Hugs,
