LaDiEs LuNcHeOn DeSSerT, and FaBriC...

TGIF!!! We did our ladies luncheon today with the 6 of us and their kids..we met at my friend Mindees house for a wonderful!!! and I mean wonderful chicken curry soup served over rice and a nice salad...It was so good on a cold wet! dreary day... I mean its been raining so much that we can float a boat at this fixed us dessert..Recipe to follow at the end.:) I have shared this many times..but it is so quick and easy and great with vanilla icecream.:)
I have to share this...I won this fabric on Ebay and just got it yesterday..I am in love with this retro vintage looking fabric..I was going to use it for aprons..but I think it is going to be new kitchen curtains...I love it!! and love the gingham red block...:)
Okay for the luncheon I made each of the gals a towel to hang in their kitchen..This one above was for Joanna...
This was for Peggy.;) she has green in her home and she loves bees..
This one was for Heather.;)
My Good pal Betty.;)she has a little white cottage called Bet's Nest and she does blue and yellow in her fitting don'tcha think?
last but not least for Mindee..I love how they turned out..I love these cute little cotton towels...I will making more of these and putting them on my Etsy..but have other projects that require my attention first....I hope you all have a great weekend..Please remember to fly your flag and remember those that are out their fighting to keep us free and safe..:) Thanks for stopping by..
Here is the recipe.;)

Quick & Easy Dessert (dumpcake)
1 can crushed or chunk pineapple with juice
1 can pie filling..I love cherry, and the one shown is blueberry..I don't like strawberry. but apple is good too.;)
put both cans with juice and syrup in the bottom of a 9x13 pan and mix around..
Sprinkle one yellow or white cake mix ( I used a butter cake mix) over the top and cover.. Take a stick of butter (8 tablespoons) and cut in chunks over the top of the mix..then sprinkle chopped pecans over the top (this is optional) or use walnuts.
Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes..serve with icecream or whip cream..Great served warm.;)
Enjoy :)

here is a funny video to cute..;

  1. Gina,
Your luncheon sounds delish & I love your towels ~ great gifts. I used to make that dump cake & now you have so kindly reminded me of it. thanks for the recipe. Have a safe and wonderful weekend and thank your hubby for serving our country.

  2. Those towels are adorable and that dessert looks wonderful!!! I just got a new flag and it's flyin' high, I may leave it up all the time:) I'm glad your tests were normal, but I agree that something is causing the pain, have they checked for arthritic bone spurs in your hips??

  3. Oh Girl, that dessert looks AMAZING and I'll be making it! Just one question though from your NON-American friend... how much butter is a stick of butter? (I have always wondered but never found the chance to ask anyone!)

And those towels are just beautiful! What a sweet frien you are (but you knew that already, right?!?)

  4. Glad you enjoyed your luncheon! What lucky ladies to receive those darlin towels!*WINK* Your dessert looks delish. I'm still thinkin of the ground rules and hunting down a surface for our swap!

  5. What a yummy post all 'round...the fabric for your curtains is wonderful, the tea towels are cute as a baby chick, and the dessert looks scrumptious. Have a relaxing weekend.

  6. Gina,
