WhAtchA WorKinG On WeDnEsDay..

Sorry I didn't post sooner..but this above and below has taken up a better part of my day and my internet...They started tearing up the road about 9:30am this morning and they are still working on it as we speak..its 5pm and there have been more workers etc..cause they cut our cable..cut someones power and then the phone company had to come..I thought they were coming to fix our road cause it is a mess and gets worse every "rainy" season..and then they took out my cable and I chewed the guys out for it..only to realize they were here for us/me/ to fix our cable..so needless to say I apologized real quick and fed them some pumpkin bread my friend from church brought by yesterday..and then I fixed them lunch..and I made a green tomato cake today..I got the recipe from Carrie over at Cottage Cozy..so the guys and the others that showed up got a hot piece of cake fresh out of the oven...it is pretty good...I used my butter/sugar/milk recipe for the frosting..they all seemed to like it..so if you want the recipe head over to Carrie's...
so they had to dig 3 feet deep to be up with the county codes and put in this PVC pipe and our cable will run through it..now they still need to come and dig through our yard by hand to put in another pipe that will go to the house..so we have a temporary hookup and the guy that came out to fix our cable said there was a loose cable that wasn't screwed in and thinks it may have been ours...so who knows..but at least it is fixed properly this time...but what a mess...
okay onto the fun stuff..I made my halloween sign..my first with stencils.. will make these next year..but it looks so good with my others that I got this year..

I just finished staining this one..gotta put the clear coat of spray on it then it is done...I love the warm colors...have 3 other signs I am working on..will have those done hopefully for next wednesdays post or post them when I am done..
I made 2 angel tree toppers using a pattern by Jackie Schmidt..I changed the wings around as I wanted a more christmasy look...this one is not grunged as there are folks just not into it..so gotta please everyone...their wings are faux fur with glitter built into it...and the backs of the wings are muslin..I used wire and twisted the tinsel garland around it to make the halo..this one is old fashioned gold tinsel..

This one is grunged.. I stainde her wings and her dress...they turned out so cute and they sit on top of the tree that I posed them on nicely...
Here are 2 belsnickles in the works also by Jackie Schmidt...I am loving doing her patterns...will post them when I am done.
My post girl came to my house only today as she couldn't go any further with all the work being done and look what she left me..Jenn Of Bittersweet made these for me..I couldn't be more thrilled with her work..I am just tickled by these..so I had to do a little tweeking cause this little cutie was going up...

I mean look at that sweet face...I just love it!!!! she is too precious..
here she is with the rest of the decor...I love my two kittys that I bought and swapped for..they make me smile...
and last but not least here is the other item Jenn made he is on my front door..he just makes me giggle...I love him..I am so happy I saw these on her selling blog and I got a wonderful deal..and I think you should have charged more for these cause in my opinion you are giving these away...you did a wonderful job on these and there is nothing better then HANDMADE!!! so folks out there please support us Artists and stop buying cheap made in China crap that all looks the same...I'm just sayin...:) Well I went to the doctors yesterday and I was so impressed with this new doctor..that I want to make her my primary care doctor..easiest pap smear I have ever had..the ankle and foot is now being okayed for an MRI as they couldn't find anything wrong..so has to be approved and will go from there..and then I have to see another doctor for something personal and I am not looking forward to this one...and it is too personal to talk about...so will leave it at that...well now that it is 6:30pm I am going to sign off now and go and make dinner..
oh the poor guys that were here since this morning..have to come back again tomorrow...they have/had their work cut out for them..took them longer then it should..tomorrow it is off for a recheck for Tuckers ear and then to Joanns for a few things..have a great evening and a great thursday...:)

RoUnD 2....

Hey there!!! yesterday we got a reprieve from the weather and took Tucker for a walk..much to my aching feet and knees..one compensating for the other makes it hard to walk...so we took a short one..man I just wish the pain in my left foot/ankle would go away..hoping to hear something from the doctors this week..Today I go in for my yearly pap smear..Oh happy happy, joy joy..:) I hate getting these..but thats part of being a lady..I suppose..so we we got back I decided since the weather was decent and I hate a messy yard...I got out the blower and went to town...here are the before photos..it was worse then last week..

Now mind you we don't have any maples in our front yard except for a Cedar and a tree that we don't know what it is..so the front here above looks like it snow in fall colors..I don't mind cleaning that up as it is MINE!!! what I do have a problem with is cleaning everyone else crap out of my yard because everyone that lives around us is lazy and allergic to yard work..so I spent 2-1/2 hours outside blowing leaves and raking...now I ask you...is this my job? Mike and I had a huge tree where we lived when we lived in Vancouver Washington..and every year when it was done we went and cleaned it up at our neighbors house..it was the right thing to do as it was OURS...I have asked the neighbors to take care of it and it falls on deaf ears...I even rake it back into their yard hoping they get the hint..I guess I need to email them all and tell them to take their freakin trees out or get off their lazy @$$e$ and do it..I have better things to be doing..and it will need to be done yet again as they aren't finished dropping all of their leaves...Sorry to vent..but this pisses me off to no extent and no one cares..and it is plain rude in my opinion..now our neighbors are moving...and they think the renters are going to want to do their yard work...heck if the home owners don't like doing it..do you think the renters will...so I asked them to get rid of the trees..so hopefully next year this will alleviate some of the work..The back yard will wait till this weekend..Okay off my soap box now..Below are the after photos..I still need to pick up that huge pile in the front..but at least we aren't tracking it into the house...Does anyone in blogland have this same problem? if so how have you dealt with it..

Oh I love a nice tidy fall yard...:)
Here is Pody and Tucker enjoying a nice fire on Sunday...
Isn't Pody just the sweetest? she knows where her bread is buttered and she loves when Mama talks baby talk to her...she gets all squinty eyed..she is outside enjoying some fresh air as there is no rain..she loves being out there..if not she just pases around moping..hoping to go out..well I have lots to do..I will have lots to share tomorrow for WWW...have a wonderful day everyone.:)_

STuFF MaDe, ReciPe, FaBriCs & MoRe ProJeCts In ThE woRkS...

Good SatuRday morning!!! The sun is shining..it is going to be about 57 degrees today...and all that work we did last week....well lets just say you can't tell any longer..so we may be doing it again on monday if the weather is decent...it was a windy day..but good cause then thats more that falls off the trees and less time spent cleaning it up..so yesterday I did a little sewing on my machine..I purchased some thread and got a free collection of stitcherys and I chose to make hair clips..so yesterday I sat down and made (actually 2 others) but they didn't make the cut and in the garbage can they went..can't use something that frays..so I tried the leather and it worked perfect..next I am trying wool felt..so the backs have fabric in which to hold the "barrette" part of it..they are 3 inch long clips.. great for someone with long hair..and they have 9 different designs..:)
I also purchased some awesome stencils from a local gal/blogger and her stencils are so cheap I couldn't resist buying a couple of them..now I gotta get hubby to cut my wood so I can get started..hopefully this weekend we can and then I can route the edges..This one says: Hot Chocolate served nightly through christmas..I can see this with a black background with red over the top and cream lettering..:) I am itching to paint...
Wynter Blessings
Top:Give thanks for simple blessings
bottom: Give thanks with a grateful heart
Laundry soap
Each day is a gift, make the most of it....
Chestnuts roasting on an open fire..I picture this with the black background with the brown front and black lettering..
I am currently working on this one for me..I purchased this from a fellow blogger going out of business earlier this year..got some really neat halloween stencils..but never got a chance to paint..this one says the blackest cats that ever were seen, wish you good luck this halloween..it is a 2 parter..I have the wood painted black..gotta put the orange over top and then stencil the cats and bats black the moon a yellow then the lettering in black...I can't wait to finish this one..will put the orange on in a bit...
making more credit card/business card holders..
I have to more in the works but they are surprises for my swap partners...
Went to Joanns this past Tuesday and I can't resist fabric..above is the christmas stash..
below is the fall/halloween stash..got some great homespun on the left..these will be the backs for my pillow tucks..minus the skulls..won't be used this year..
in the costume section they always have great fabric I can use on my dolls..since I stopped getting dressed up for halloween..many moons ago..and they had this cheesecloth already stained..so I purschased 5 yards I can use this on my dolls or my decorating for next year...
I made lasagne roll-ups the other night and wanted to share the recipe with you..they are so easy..its the only way I will do lasagne now..:) recipe will be at the end of the post..:) Below are some funnys I have been meaning to share..

Thought I would share since it is Breast Cancer awareness month..also I have decided that my breast cancer purses are 30% off this month..so if you want to show your "support" and get one to tote around let me know..:)
Lasagna Roll-ups

Indgredients:
14 lasagna noodles
3 cups ricotta cheese
2 eggs
1/4 cup chopped parsley or 1-1/2 tablespoons dried parsley
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, Divided
6 big sausage links, casings removed (or buy the ground sausage in a package and use it all).
28-ounce jar of marinara sauce; divided ( I use my spaghetti sauce) same difference.
Serves 6
1: Preheat oven to 375F. Cook noodles according to package directions. Drain noodles and rinse with cold water. Mix ricotta cheese, eggs, parsley and 1 cup mozzarella in a bowl; set aside.
2: Cook sausage in a skillet over medium heat until browned and crumbly, drain fat.
3: Spread 1/2 cup sauce in a 9 x 13 inch baking dish. Spread 3 table spoons ricotta mixture on each noodle. Top with some sausage. Roll up each noodle. Arrange seam side down in baking dish.
4: Top roll-ups with remaining sauce and mozzarella. Bake, loosely covered for 15 minutes.. Remove cover and bake for 10 minutes longer or until brown and bubbly...
I also add onion to the sausage cause I love onion..a small one cut up would be great. I also add black pepper to the creamed mixture..this is so easy and easy..even your kids can help you assemble them...:) Enjoy!!!
well have a wonderful weekend..going to stay focused to get stuff done to mail out on monday and try to get back in my "cramming mode".. take care..:)
