Perhaps they are not stars, but rather openings in Heaven where the love of our lost ones pours through and shines down upon us to let us know they are happy. Eskimo proverb

STuFF MaDe, ReciPe, FaBriCs & MoRe ProJeCts In ThE woRkS...

Good SatuRday morning!!! The sun is shining..it is going to be about 57 degrees today...and all that work we did last week....well lets just say you can't tell any longer..so we may be doing it again on monday if the weather is decent...it was a windy day..but good cause then thats more that falls off the trees and less time spent cleaning it up..so yesterday I did a little sewing on my machine..I purchased some thread and got a free collection of stitcherys and I chose to make hair clips..so yesterday I sat down and made (actually 2 others) but they didn't make the cut and in the garbage can they went..can't use something that frays..so I tried the leather and it worked perfect..next I am trying wool felt..so the backs have fabric in which to hold the "barrette" part of it..they are 3 inch long clips.. great for someone with long hair..and they have 9 different designs..:)
I also purchased some awesome stencils from a local gal/blogger and her stencils are so cheap I couldn't resist buying a couple of them..now I gotta get hubby to cut my wood so I can get started..hopefully this weekend we can and then I can route the edges..This one says: Hot Chocolate served nightly through christmas..I can see this with a black background with red over the top and cream lettering..:) I am itching to paint...

Laundry soap
Each day is a gift, make the most of it....
Chestnuts roasting on an open fire..I picture this with the black background with the brown front and black lettering..
I am currently working on this one for me..I purchased this from a fellow blogger going out of business earlier this year..got some really neat halloween stencils..but never got a chance to paint..this one says the blackest cats that ever were seen, wish you good luck this halloween..it is a 2 parter..I have the wood painted black..gotta put the orange over top and then stencil the cats and bats black the moon a yellow then the lettering in black...I can't wait to finish this one..will put the orange on in a bit...
making more credit card/business card holders..
I have to more in the works but they are surprises for my swap partners...
Went to Joanns this past Tuesday and I can't resist fabric..above is the christmas stash..
below is the fall/halloween stash..got some great homespun on the left..these will be the backs for my pillow tucks..minus the skulls..won't be used this year..
in the costume section they always have great fabric I can use on my dolls..since I stopped getting dressed up for halloween..many moons ago..and they had this cheesecloth already stained..so I purschased 5 yards I can use this on my dolls or my decorating for next year...
I made lasagne roll-ups the other night and wanted to share the recipe with you..they are so easy..its the only way I will do lasagne now..:) recipe will be at the end of the post..:) Below are some funnys I have been meaning to share..

Thought I would share since it is Breast Cancer awareness month..also I have decided that my breast cancer purses are 30% off this month..so if you want to show your "support" and get one to tote around let me know..:)
Lasagna Roll-ups

Indgredients:
14 lasagna noodles
3 cups ricotta cheese
2 eggs
1/4 cup chopped parsley or 1-1/2 tablespoons dried parsley
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, Divided
6 big sausage links, casings removed (or buy the ground sausage in a package and use it all).
28-ounce jar of marinara sauce; divided ( I use my spaghetti sauce) same difference.
Serves 6
1: Preheat oven to 375F. Cook noodles according to package directions. Drain noodles and rinse with cold water. Mix ricotta cheese, eggs, parsley and 1 cup mozzarella in a bowl; set aside.
2: Cook sausage in a skillet over medium heat until browned and crumbly, drain fat.
3: Spread 1/2 cup sauce in a 9 x 13 inch baking dish. Spread 3 table spoons ricotta mixture on each noodle. Top with some sausage. Roll up each noodle. Arrange seam side down in baking dish.
4: Top roll-ups with remaining sauce and mozzarella. Bake, loosely covered for 15 minutes.. Remove cover and bake for 10 minutes longer or until brown and bubbly...
I also add onion to the sausage cause I love onion..a small one cut up would be great. I also add black pepper to the creamed mixture..this is so easy and easy..even your kids can help you assemble them...:) Enjoy!!!
well have a wonderful weekend..going to stay focused to get stuff done to mail out on monday and try to get back in my "cramming mode".. take care..:)

  10. Hey I see you made the lasagna roll-ups...aren't they great? And so easy too. You are going to love the Green Tomato Cake. Just chop the tomatoes real small...let me know how you like it? I am going to try it in muffins tonight.

    Love the "dough rising" funny...
