BabY it'S ColD OutSidE....

This is Jennys set and the citrusy set is her SIL's...
Well we woke up to it snowing this morning and knew would be staying home today..DH was going to go christmas shopping and I was going to get my hair done..but we stayed home instead and I sewed while it snowed...we got about 2-3 inches of snow and everything is closed..we had a vet appt and they called and cancelled on us..So this is what I have been working on for Jenny of Wonders of Whimsy...She is getting one and her SIL is getting one for christmas as well..she ordered these sometime back and my procrastinating butt just finished them...These are casserole carriers that will hold a 8x8 or 9x13 pan...It has the thermal batting so it helps keep food hot or cold better..

Here is the secret compartment underneath the carrier..great for holding a towel and serving spoons as shown here and for hot pads as well..

These are the 2 towels I machine embroidered to match the carriers...they turned out really neat if I say so myself..I quilted the insides in a diamond shape across the insides..looks really nice..I will take orders on these...They are $45.00 for the carrier, towel and spoon/fork..they would make great house warming gifts, or a hostess gift or for someone that is always taking something for their potluck and need a nifty carrier to haul it in...

Here are my latest knitting projects! I am having so much fun knitting...I sit and watch tv..er listen to it as I become Evelyn Knitting hands...These are going to go on the future dollies that I make and I already have them out ready to start them..one is a raggedy..and she is having a birthday and hers is the pink one...the grey fuzzy one will go on a snowman doll and the purple will go on crazy cat lady...(wish it were my size) cause I am called the crazy cat lady in these parts...lol...anyway we had all the babys in again today all snoozing by the nice fire DH made for us..I had a nice treat yesterday morning when I woke up..he had made me nice toasty one before he left...great way to wake up...:) Hope your day went well and you can all cozy up for a long winters nap tonight..Stay safe and warm...Take care..:)

  1. Dang you are a knitting fool!
    The casserole carriers look great!
To answer your controller question...we have 3, but not lined up neat in a row...we are always searching for ours! You are much more organized!
Stay warm and send some snow my way!

  2. Gina,
Your knitted sweaters are soo...cute! I purchased some from Factory Direct Crafts to put on my dolls that I make. I like to crochet but am not very good at knitting.
Wish we had some snow...we got ice a few days ago and are to get more tonight and again over the weekend.
Hope the weather is ok for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
    Hugs, Cindy

  3. You did yesterday what I'm doing today, sitting in front of the fire finishing a pillow for our grandson. Hopefully I'll post a pic later today. I love your casserole carriers, such a cool idea and your little sweaters are adorable. I can crochet like crazy but never got the hang of knitting. I can knit & purl but that's it, can't make anything. LOL
Have a wonderful day, my sista.

  5. I can't think of anything nicer than to be sewing while its snowing outside my window. What a pretty picture that paints in my mind!

Your work is lovely! And those sweaters ... so tiny ... can't wait to see the little dollies wearing them.

    Christmas blessings,
    Lea

  6. Love the little sweaters!! So darn cute.

UGH on your refrigerator story. I took all that kind of food home with me from their regular refrigerator. It was the leftovers in tupperware and things like milk that stunk. So glad nothing leaked!!
