HeRe's My WEeK in ReVieW..

Hello all!!! well its been a week since my last post..I hope you all have had a great week..I started mine off with a cold or at least it seemed like a cold..started saturday night..so I stayed home from church..I feel much better..and today was glorious..sunny outside and fairly warm..we have had snow in places here with in about 20 minutes of where I live..(got nothing where I live) and lots of rain this week..yesterday it just pored..like someone just turned the faucet on high..and today sunny..I haven't walked hardly at all this week..and since today was nice..Tucky and I did the 5 miler..kind of making up for not walking earlier in the week..it was just so stinking cold and wet..I do better when the weather is nicer...and I tell you sometimes I want to move to a warmer/sunnier climate so I can be out side more..definitely helps my moods.)
Yesterday was our ladies church enrichment birthday party..and since I am on the committee..we had to decorated the clubhouse which is about 2 miles from where I live..(our first home is directly across the street from the club house)..and you all know I love to decorate..so this was so much fun..we do something every month..not here all the time..but we plan things for the ladies in our church..I love this calling..and I get to work with some great ladies too..so here is the entrance to the clubhouse..that is all my stuff there..(we all brought things from our homes to decorate the inside and outside with..to make it more cozy, inviting, simple, earthy, and kind of primitive..)kind of like the pioneers did way back when..only we have the modern conveniences of today..
we lit candles to light the way of our guests last night..

Here is how it looked when I arrived at 11am yesterday..the gals had just started setting the tables..we put down plastic white clothes.and burlap runners along the centers of the table..whats neat about this clubhouse is it looks like a log cabin inside..the only thing that would have been better would have been a wood stove to really set the tone.:)

now its starting to take shape...oh i love the flowers in that vase..love the green ones.;)thats the Salt Lake Temple..I love that temple..love the style of it..thats my little wood block..it says love..
the food table starting to take shape..my prairie dress, bonnet and clothes pin holder..
here are more of my goodies..minus the stitchery next to the prairie doll..we put the glutten free bread sticks in the trencher..that was also the salad table..we had olive garden salads...
my little clothesline seperating the kitchen..with a big boquet of flowers..and the bottles I made..these were left overs..I put burlap around them, frayed the edges and tied a hemp cord around them and put in some dried flowers..we then put water in them..and put these on the table with flowers...
the little coffee table with my runner and candle and the enamelwar and prairie doll and hat apron, washboard etc..and those flower vases..
those are my quilts up above too..we strung lights everywhere..that was too much fun..it took us about 3 hours to transform the place and less then an hour to tear it all down..amazing how that works...
the gals on the committe each brought 6 place settings..soup bowl, salad plate, cups and silverware..so it was a bit eclectic..but it all seemed to work..I also brought cupcake tins to put faux flowers and votive candles in..along with my rolling pin and some signs to put on the tables...

this was a cozy little spot at two couches ..we had fresh cut veggies on all the tables with dip..I munched on alot of carrots and cucumbers and celery last night.
here is the "soup" buffet..there was clam chowder..tuscano soup from Olive garden, split pea soup, minestrone soup and I brought Traces White chicken chilli soup..oh I had some for lunch today..it was soooooo good..the had fresh parmasan cheese for us to put on our soups..and saltine crackers too..and we also brought cornbread that we cooked in our cast iron skillets..
here is the dessert table..(my table cloth) carrot cake and chocolate ones..I had a chocolate one..I have one of my little wooden bowls in the upper part of the picture there with a wooden spoon and faux eggs in the bowl....
here we are just getting ready to eat..my place setting is the last table here..I used my 40's fireking and red tipped silverware with a star that I got at the thrift store and my colorful enamelware glasses...
on each plate they had a little flower packet for us..there was a lot of leftovers..so I took one of each..so maybe this weekend I will go and plant some seeds..so that was my day yesterday inbetween the rains..
Okay this is what I have been working on..I made 3 pairs of wrist warmers..one for me..and the rest to sale..
2 more hoodies..the one on the left is mine..I love the eggplant color..I wore it on my walk earlier this week..and it kept me nice and toasty..
I made 3 more hats..these are the Scotian hat..I am totally hooked on making these hats..they are so stinking cute on..the blue one has tassels and when you button them up they look like pig tails..they add such a cute touch of whimsy...
here they are down...to keep your ears nice and toasty.;)
next is my neck warmers..oh I am so in love with this pattern too..I love Bellas patterns..and this pattern came from here..I changed out the flower..you will see below these neck warmers and hat in action.;)
and here it is on Joanna..I made it for her..when she came by on wednesday to get ideas and things for me to bring for yesterday..I showed her what I was making..and she looked so cute in them..so I made that for her on wednesday night..turned out so cute..she looks so good in that green and brown..
here is Shelley wearing the victorian neck warmer...she was so surprised with this last night..she looked so pretty in it..
and here I am sitting with the gals..and I have mine on too...
I took this when I came home last night..
its like having more accessories for outfits..so it anyone is interested in purchasing one of these..let me know your colors etc.:) These make great gifts too..just a thought..if not for you..then someone you love.;)
I have been putting out a bit more spring/easter decor..we made these last month for our craft with the ladies from church at the club house that we were at last night..we decopauged these using card stock that we printed and put these on wood..you can rip the edges so it just barely covers the wood and then stain and sand the edges of the wood..I just used watered down paint and used my fingers to do the edges..I love this picture of Jesus holding a wee little lamb..

I also made the little bird and put it in the downstairs bathroom along with a mason jar with chickencoop wire and little eggs with raffia/moss on the bottom..I have had that jar for years..purchased it at a gift show or country shop..love the idea and super easy to make..
remember my laundry room..this was sooo last week..lol..after bringing home all my stuff last night..I of course had to put it all away or it would have bugged me all night long..I decided to tweak some more..

so now here it is..
I do so love the light..:)
I put up my window that I told you about a couple of posts ago..and it has transformed..and today I got my towel swap from Lynn Spencer of Life on the weiner ranch..:)..Thanks Lynn...it looks right at home here with all my goodies..the colors are ppurrfffeecctt...
and here it without the flash..I got that plate along with 3 others from Miss Cindy at her online garage sale last year..actually she was doing a regular garage sale and she posted pictures of her stuff and I found some cute stuff.. I love these seasonal plates..my little pillow from Pam of Basketsnprims..I won her giveaway last year..so I am loving my little night light in the hallway..this window mirror has been sitting in my room for well over a year and I finally found a home for it..
well here is another healthy recipe to make for the weekend.;)This comes from Jorge Cruise of "belly fat cure" the fast track..I purchased the book about a month ago and am finally sitting down to read it..and here is one of the recipes:
Jorges Chocolate Lace Cookies
Makes 24 cookies
2 sticks of butter softened
2/3 cup xylitol
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 large eggs
1 cup almond flour (about 1/2 cup almonds ground in a coffee grinder)
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 cup stevia-sweetened whey protein powder
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
4 oz dark chocolate (85% or greater) chopped
1 cup chopped walnuts
pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper set aside.
Beat together butter, xylitol and vanilla extract until light and fluffy..Beat in eggs one at a time.
Whisk together almond flour, cocoa powder, whey powder, baking powder and salt in a seperate bowl. Stir dry ingredients into butter mixture..Stir in chopped walnuts and chocolate till well combined.
Spoon heaping teaspoons of batter 2 inches apart on prepared baking sheet. place in freezer for 5 minutes.. remove and bake 9-10 minutes..Cookies will be lacy and spread during baking.Cool Cookies completely on baking sheet..Store in airtight container-these cookies crumble when exposed to air..;)
okay that is it for me..we have been invited to the annual st.paddys day bash at our neighbors house up the road from us..so if hubby feels better..that is where we are headed for a night of food and fun..Monday is my blood draw..missed it this wednesday due to my cold..and I will be hitting Joanns or michaels for more yarn either tomorrow or monday..can't wait..I am running out of certain colors fast.. well I am off to make dinner.tonight is grilled porkchop salads..and I make a mean salad...have a wonderful weekend everyone.;) thanks for stopping by and making my day..;)
