Hello there everyone!!! I am having so much fun making penny rugs..that I am making more then I am finishing..lol..I am almost finished with another one..but couldn't resist making another fall one..I love these designs..

Heres a closeup so you can see what it says...great things about these penny rugs is that you can hang them for wall art too.;)

I made these towels for Kim of Old Road Primitives and she has them displayed so nicely..I am in the process of making her 4 more in red...they are going to look fab-u-lous in her home..I am going to make me some too..I love these designs...(Kim I hope you don't mind me using your photo)...:)

I also added these too little doily/ornament/coasters of chickens to her package as a thank you..they are lace..

I love how they turned out...Well I am off to the grocery store and hopefully the weather will pick up before our BBQ tonight..I don't want to be freezing my butt off in the rain..and I want to go on a hay ride..haven't been on one for years and I dig that sort of thing..;) have a great rest of your weekend.;)

TGIF!!! We did our ladies luncheon today with the 6 of us and their kids..we met at my friend Mindees house for a wonderful!!! and I mean wonderful chicken curry soup served over rice and a nice salad...It was so good on a cold wet! dreary day... I mean its been raining so much that we can float a boat at this point..lol..I fixed us dessert..Recipe to follow at the end.:) I have shared this many times..but it is so quick and easy and great with vanilla icecream.:)

I have to share this...I won this fabric on Ebay and just got it yesterday..I am in love with this retro vintage looking fabric..I was going to use it for aprons..but I think it is going to be new kitchen curtains...I love it!! and love the gingham red block...:)

Okay for the luncheon I made each of the gals a towel to hang in their kitchen..This one above was for Joanna...

This was for Peggy.;) she has green in her home and she loves bees..

This one was for Heather.;)

My Good pal Betty.;)she has a little white cottage called Bet's Nest and she does blue and yellow in her kitchen..so fitting don'tcha think?

Here is the recipe.;)

Quick & Easy Dessert (dumpcake)

1 can crushed or chunk pineapple with juice

1 can pie filling..I love cherry, and the one shown is blueberry..I don't like strawberry. but apple is good too.;)

put both cans with juice and syrup in the bottom of a 9x13 pan and mix around..

Sprinkle one yellow or white cake mix ( I used a butter cake mix) over the top and cover.. Take a stick of butter (8 tablespoons) and cut in chunks over the top of the mix..then sprinkle chopped pecans over the top (this is optional) or use walnuts.

Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes..serve with icecream or whip cream..Great served warm.;)

PiCtuRes Of ouR GarDen and YaRd In BLooM and FaLL PeNnY RuG In the WoRks..

Hello there!! This was just snapped of my garden about 2 minutes ago..The garden is doing really well..time to string up the peas..we are going to have a lot of taters and the pumpkins and squash seeds are about 6 inches tall..we have had alot of rain and it has been good food the plants but not so good the blooms..my little salmon poppys are all drooping because of the rain and I love them..they are in the lower right hand corner of the photo above..

This is our Rhodie in the front yard..everytime I open the window I think it has snowed..they are a light pink and glorious..you can see the other pink one next too it and the little purple one is starting to bloom too..all of the foxglove are now starting to bloom as well..

its getting to where I can't walk up there without crushing something..so come fall time to start ripping stuff out..I love it..but I also love simplicity...hate all the work..so time to thin it all out..

I just finished embroidering this new fall penny rug..so now I have 4 of them to finish..gotta do the pennys and then attach them...but I love this design and its never to early to start thinking about fall is it? those are not blue penny circles by the way..they are gray..kept everything warm and fall like..Well I should have some results of seeing the doctors tomorrow..they had to draw blood so will see how I am doing..I am taking more Vitamin D and Fish oil and other meds to see if it helps with the hip pain etc..ever since I had my hysterectomy 6 years ago, I have had a lot of pain in my hip joints that I never had before the surgery..due to the way the had my legs out of the way for the surgery..(this gal don't bend that way) and I didn't know that till after..so needless to say I am in pain all day long and don't sleep to well at night due to the pain...can't sleep on my sides to long as the pain is to great..checking to see if I have Fibromyalgia(?) will see..anyway I got my hair cut as well..the jury is still out on that...as Its a little shorter in the back then I expected and not quite what I was wanting.but gotta style it myself and we shall see..have a wonderful thursday everyone..; and thanks for stopping by and saying hi..;)

Hey there!! Well I got up enough gumption to stitch out something yesterday...so I am making some american penny rugs..and this is what I have stitched up so far...will try to get something else done..gotta work on some projects for our church group..we are meeting for our monthly luncheon...and I think I am making each a towel for their kitchens..not sure..but I have 1 day to get some stuff done..gotta be simple..I also have another order for those Toile Roosters that I did..Thank you Amy..you are fab!!! I have a doctors appt and a hair appt today..so gotta go and get ready I suppose..The weather outside is wet and rainy..and will be the rest of this week..I just hope its clear for Saturday..we got invited to a barbeque and there is going to be hey rides..I am giddy as a school girl..I can't wait..and I love the folks that are hosting this..meeting so many nice folks at church...I am loving them all..Have a great day everyone and thank you for stopping by.:)

MoRe BiRthDay GifTs and Other GooDieS..

How was everyones weekend!!! ours was quiet..did our disaster thing on saturday..will blog about that with info soon..Sunday was church..had our neighbor over for dinner..No baby yet..;) Monday we did some stuff around the house that has long been needing to be done..we put the shutter doors in the guest bedroom..only took a year to get that done..longer actually..cleaned behind the fridge..(taking off the panel and cleaning)..the fridge has been acting up..so thought a cleaning would help..so far so good...been sewing and trying to finish up projects..gotta start writing them down so I don't forget..my friend Melissa from Church gave me this prairie hat that she made and wore in a church thing...This is how she gave it to me..you will see the after down a few photos..I am so excited...

Yesterday in the mail I got my package of cookie cutters that I ordered...I need to make some salt dough cookies..I have so many ideas floating around and need to get them done..

Also yesterday my package from my good pal Cindy from Cynthia lee designs sent me a birthday package..and I love what she sent me...I am in love with this vintage trim..rocking horses and bears..I am thinking these will go on some bibs for sure..:)

and I love this trim as well..might be aprons or dolls..;)

She painted me this cute little gamboard..I love it..

and she made me this wonderful pin cushion in my favorite color..its on my sewing table..

she also gave me this bowl..love it..very prim indeed!!:)

she alsom made me this spool with cloth measuring tape around it and added the charms..

and this cute little blue cup..and below you will see where I put everything.;)

Cindy mentioned it would look cute next to my pyrex and it does..;)

notice the top shelf I made the sheep candle mat and her items go so well with it..I love it..

and here is my prairie bonnet all coffee stained and ironed with the little dress I made..this is hanging in my dining room..I love it there...kind of completes it..

Cindy thank you for making my birthday special as always...It didn't even matter that it was late..cause I knew it would be good..and it makes the holiday last a bit longer..not that I need to be reminded that I am getting older..but I sure do love getting goodies in the mail..speaking of which..I ordered a bunch of tops and they came today..and they are all so cute...Well tomorrow I am off to the doctors and getting my hair cut...so probably won't post till Thursday..did anyone watch the Series "LOST?"...man oh man we were fans but are a bit confused to the ending..any theorys? have a wonderful rest of your week...and as always thanks for stopping by and saying hi..:)

Good Morning!! I finally finished up 2 of the penny rugs I was working on and have 2 more to finish..I love how this one turned out..all machine embroidered...

I will be posting this on my Etsy shortly..

I also finished up this baby bib for my friend Laurie of Cat Haven Crafts..she and I did a swap and she wanted a yellow bib with owls on it..I love how it turned out..

kind of has a vintage feel to it doesn't it? I also used a snap closure..they have them in great colors just for babys..and I love them.

here is the first penny rug I made..all done..not bad for a first time..I am having a blast making them too...got some more projects I am itching to make..just wish I had 8 arms to get them all done..the ideas are flying.:) Today our church is doing a disaster awareness thing where we have to be prepared and have 72 hour kits ready to go should a disaster strike..I sadly don't have one yet..cause I have been to lazy..but I am hoping to learn and take notes so I can come home and get prepared...I will post next time what I have learned to help you get prepared...

I almost forgot!! I got my first sale from Etsy yesterday..was checking my emails and noticed that I had sold a doll...I am so excited and I have another sale for my chicken towels too..I am loving those and I have more ideas for towels I am hoping to get started with today.:) Have a great weekend and thanks for all the wonderful and positive comments you leave me..;)

Dan of Yesterday once more has been showing his collections of different things that he has and last night he showed us his bowls...well I thought I would do the same as I have some pretty neat ones..although not collections of anything...I do love my pyrex..so I guess thats a collection..the above set my girlfriend Gina gave me years ago..I use them all the time..

I got this set along with 2 retangular ones 2 photos down on ebay for $10.00..that was such a steal..they go for around 30-40 bucks here and are very rare...I love the color of these..right now they are housing my sweet potatoes as I want to make sweet potatoe frys with them...will keep you posted on that one..gotta find the recipe..

my TS finds..I think these were like 2-3 dollars each..and they have the lids..which is sometimes hard to find..

I just picked up the fireking sunflower bowl a couple of weeks ago out TS shopping...it makes me smile..I love bowls..

this bowl my friend gave to me as a thank you for taking her daughter for a week..she was my little pal..now she is going to be 25...I love this bowl and love the colors...I almost sold this..so glad I didn't..;)

aaahhh more pyrex..I used to eat of similar ones when i was a kid..they made great cereal bowls..you know the cereal where you put a ton of sugar and it all floated to the bottom..and it tasted so good at the end with the milk..;) sorry for the saran wrap..leftover cream of mushroom soup in that one from dinner last night..that and grilled cheese sandwiches..

I got these as well as for salad plates from my friend Carolee..they just kept calling me till I finally bought them..we use these for our spaghetti and big salads...they are my favs!!

More fireking..I started collecting these back in 92..my friend Selena had started collecting it and I thought it was interesting..so I did too..love these for icecream bowls..and soup..

here is the big collection..I think I got these at an antique store..I have also purchased seperate plates...I love the knife marks and wonder what was eaten on them and who loved them before me...

I just finished up this towel this morning..it is my international chicken silhouette towel..I love how it turne out..it has black and white lettering on it..
